Respect, friendship, overcoming challenges, and teamwork. These are some of the values that were part of the Olympic Day programme at Colégio Estadual Jardim Vila Boa, in Goiânia. More than a sporting celebration, the initiative showed how Olympism can contribute to the civic education of children and adolescents.
The initiative is part of a project that brings Olympic values into the school environment through educational activities, talks, and sports practices. The proposal follows a global initiative by the International Olympic Committee that seeks to bring young people closer to the principles behind the Olympic Games.
